If you live with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), you know the impact this condition can have on your life. Daily activities like going to work, family outings, or even climbing the stairs can become a challenge. New treatments and approaches may be available to relieve your COPD symptoms.

We invite you and your caregivers to learn about the latest in COPD treatment, management, and research during the 2023 GOLD International COPD Patient Education Session.

During this first-of-its-kind session, you will:

  • ● Hear from leading global experts about new treatments and approaches for managing COPD
  • ● Listen to interactive discussions between providers and patient advocates on important topics in COPD care
  • ● Meet and talk with other individuals living with COPD and their caregivers

The 2023 GOLD International COPD Patient Education Session is hosted by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and the Temple Lung Center in collaboration with the COPD Foundation. It is held during the 2023 GOLD International COPD Conference, an annual event for healthcare providers involved in managing and caring for people with COPD. Join us for the 2023 GOLD International COPD Patient Education Session live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania or take advantage of our virtual attendance option (Product Theaters, Learning Labs, and the COPD 360 Networking Event will not be available virtually).

The Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) works with healthcare professionals and public health officials around the world to raise awareness of COPD and to improve prevention and treatment of this lung disease. Through the development of evidence-based strategy documents for the management of COPD, and annual events such as World COPD Day and the GOLD International COPD Conference, GOLD is working to improve the lives of people with COPD in every corner of the globe.

GOLD was launched in 1997 in collaboration with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, USA, and the World Health Organization. GOLD’s program is determined and its guidelines for COPD care are shaped by committees made up of leading experts from around the world.

The Temple Lung Center (TLC) is a national leader in the clinical care of advanced lung disease. As a national hub for research, the TLC is actively involved in the advancement of lung disease treatment, harnessing innovation and expertise to discover tomorrow’s standard of care.

The TLC is part of Temple Health — a $1.6 billion academic health system dedicated to providing access to quality patient care and supporting excellence in medical education and research. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the lung center is comprised of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine; lung transplant; and thoracic surgery, and works closely with the Center for Inflammation and Lung Research at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.

The COPD Foundation is a patient-centered organization committed to preventing COPD, bronchiectasis, and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease, and to seeking cures while improving lives and advocating for all affected.

Embracing innovation, we engage, educate, and empower our community through a unique 360-degree approach.

We mobilize partnerships between patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, academic institutions, government agencies, patient advocacy groups, and industry leaders with a common mission.
